Alice June Young was born June 20, 1935 in St. Louis, MO. to Jennie Ramsey Young and Edward Franklin Young and passed away on May 31, 2017 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 81 years. She has two sisters, Donna Gipson of Austin, Arkansas and Patricia Bauer who went to be with Jesus in 2001.
Her parents moved to the Pine Union community near Marquand when Alice was 4 yrs old. She attended the Little Pine Union Church where she accepted Christ at a young age.
Later, God blessed her with 3 children; Danny Homan of Marquand, Kathe Homan Wunnenberg of Phoenix, Arizona and Douglas Stephens of Warrenton, MO. In later years she felt further blessed by her daughters-in-law and son-in-law. Family was rated in her life, right after God and just above friends and cleanliness.
Her joy was her grandchildren. Dustin Homan of Marquand, Jake, Josh, and Jordan Wunnenberg of Phoenix, Arizona and Amber, Benjamin, and Lauren Stephens of Warrenton, MO. One grandson, John Samuel Wunnenberg went to be with Jesus. Her prayer is that each and every grandchild will find someone in life very much like Dusty did, a sweet wife and good mother.
Her joy was enlarged when God further blessed her with great grandchildren Aidan and Braydan Homan, and Brooklynne Poe of Marquand.
Her church family was important in her life and over the years she took friendship very seriously having some friends she had from childhood until her last days. She wanted to take this opportunity to say how grateful she was to the church family and community for making her feel at home after being away so many years, to Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau for all those who served her, and to thank God for the gift of life and for walking with her on this entire journey.
She asks that God bless her precious family and friends… until we meet again.
