Alta L. McClellan was born on May 13, 1947 at Fredericktown the daughter of Floyd and Vera (Smallen) Pogue and passed away on April 23, 2014 at her residence in Fredericktown at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Matt McClellan, two sisters Joan Crippen and Shirley Ivison, and two brothers Darrell Pogue and Dallas Pogue. Alta was united in marriage to Mike McClellan Sr. on December 19, 1966 at Fredericktown. She is survived by her husband, 1 son Michael (Melanie) McClellan Jr., 1 daughter Michelle (Kevin) Hovis, 2 brothers Sam Pogue and Gary Pogue, 2 sisters June Berry and Linda Boswell, 5 grandchildren, and 3 ¾  great grandchildren. Alta was a member of Silver Mines General Baptist Church and enjoyed riding horses, gardening, and spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids. Alta also enjoyed taking care of the many families while she worked for Serenity Hospice until her recent retirement after 17 years of dedicated service.
