Arlene Carolyn (Sontag) Haynes was born November 27,1947 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of William and Dorothy (Koehler) Sontag, and passed away on December 13, 2024, in Fredericktown at the age of 77 years.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Michael Brunk, nephew Scott Leary, great nephew Matthew Leary, grandparents Martin and Augusta Sontag and Alfred and Caroline Koehler, stepfather Walter Koch.

She is survived by her children William and (Jessica) Shackelford of Wentzville, Missouri and Kristen (Jim) Lenhardt of Fredericktown, Missouri. A sister Carol and (Roy) Esslinger of Pacific, Missouri. Grandchildren Gunther Brunk of Fredericktown, Morgan and (Elijah) Ellis of Fredericktown, Sydney Brunk of Princeton, Ky, Avari Shackelford, Sawyer Shackelford, Lincoln Shackelford all of Wentzville, Mo. Great grandson Jace Horning of Princeton, Ky. Nephews Todd & Joyce Hartman of Pacific, Mo., Jeff Hartman and John Pearson of Pacific, Mo., Niece Michele and Steve Johnson of Pacific, Mo. many great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. She loved dearly.

Arlene was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Eureka, Mo., enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her yard, flowers and her family.
