Basil O. Howell was born on January 15, 1926 at St. Louis, Missouri the son of Phillip and Maude (Pogue) Howell and passed away on July 8, 2013 at the ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown at the age of 87 years. Basil was united in marriage to Virginia Johnson on November 13, 1948 at Piggot, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, brothers Jack Howell, Elmer Howell, Melvin Howell, and an infant brother and one sister Barbara Sexaur. Basil is survived by one daughter Rita Lamb of Fredericktown, two sons Terry Howell of Birmingham, Alabama and Edward Howell of Empire, Alabama, two grandchildren Steve Lamb and Alan Lamb, and three great grandchildren Jake, Brody, and Allie Jo. Basil was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
