Bertha M. Kennon was born on August 27, 1906 at Silver Lake in Perry County, Missouri the daughter of Oliver Perry and Ida Cora (Eaves) French and passed away on June 29, 2014 at her residence in De Soto, Missouri at the age of 107 years. Bertha was united in marriage to Marcus Wayne Kennon on July 16, 1925 at St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marcus Wayne Kennon, two sons Eugene and Roger Kennon, one infant daughter, granddaughters Cheri Slemmer, Sonja Slemmer, and Diane Moore, one grandson Roger (Rusty) Kennon, one great grandson Paxton Slemmer, one great granddaughter Jennifer Kennon, three brothers Floyd, Arthur, and Harley French, and two sisters Myrtle Parsons and Elva Shaw. Bertha is survived by one son Alvin Wayne (Delores) Kennon, one daughter Nevada M. Wilson, eight (8) grandchildren Tim (Vicky) Kennon, Terry Stanfill, Gary D. (Alicia) Slemmer Jr., Alan (Brenda) Kennon, Angie Tidwell, Justin (Michelle) Kennon, Joshua (Becky) Kennon, and Paula Reed, fifteen (15) great grandchildren, and twenty-five (25) great-great grandchildren. Bertha was a member of the Whitewater Christian Church at Yount, Missouri and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking.
