Bessa Lee Starkey was born on November 3, 1938 at Libertyville, MO, the daughter of Benjamin and Wuanita (Blue) Lindsey, and passed away April 13, 2026, at the age of 87.

Bessa was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Starkey, who she married on June 9, 1958, her parents, eight (8) brothers, Nelson Lindsey, Jack Lindsey, Joe Lindsey, Michael Lindsey, Dewey Lindsey, Gordon Lindsey and Darrell Linsey and one (1) sister, Doris Barger.

Bessa is survived by two (2) sons, Melvin (Silvia) Starkey, Jim (Sandy) Starkey, One (1) daughter, Saundra Ivison, one (1) brother Albert Lindsay, one (1) sister Lorna (Harold) Vanhuss, eight (8) grandchildren, twenty-nine (29) great-grandchildren and three (3) great great-grandchildren.

Bessa enjoyed fishing and quilting.
