Betty J. McDowell Turnbaugh was born on September 9, 1932 at Lesterville, Missouri the daughter of George Oscar and Bessie Mae (Adams) Goggin and passed away at Fredericktown at the age of 84 years. She was preceded her parents, her first husband Earnest McDowell whom she was united in marriage to on December 24, 1950 at Lesterville, Missouri, her second husband Elmo Turnbaugh whom she was united in marriage on September 8, 1984, one brother Clifford Goggin, two sisters Maxine Walker and Jessie Chitwood, two grandsons Dillian McDowell and Joshua Sanders, one granddaughter Gloria Sky McDowell, and son-in-law Kenneth Montgomery. She is survived by six (6) sons Michael McDowell of Knob Lick, Willis (Debbie) McDowell of Marquand, George (Kim) McDowell of Marquand, Richard McDowell of Cape Girardeau, Rodger (Linda) McDowell of Vernal, Utah, and Tim (Jeanne) McDowell of St. Mary, Missouri, five daughters Marilyn (Terry) Flanagan of Fredericktown, Shirley (Willie) Barton of Marquand, Helen (Bill) Clauser of Fredericktown, Tammy Geile of Perryville, and Amy (Mark) Hager of Perryville, five brothers Jack Goggin of Lestervile, Jim Goggin of Cape Girardeau, Charles Goggin of Troy, Missouri, and Bill Goggin of St. Louis, and sister-in-law Norma Helm of Marquand. Also twenty-seven (27) grandchildren, twenty-eight (28) great grandchildren, eleven (11) step grandchildren, twenty –three (23) step great grandchildren, three (3) step great-great grandchildren, and one special "furry" pet Tator. Betty was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
