Clarence Eugene Matthews was born November 17, 1931 at Fredericktown the son of John H. and Alice (Bollinger) Matthews and passed away on March 28, 2018 at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown at the age of 86 years.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Zola Marie (Whited) Matthews whom he married on August 13, 1960 at Village Creek. His parents, sisters and brothers Zelta Rouse, A.J. Matthews, William Matthews, John Matthews, Harold Matthews, Wilma Matthews. Two (2) grandchildren Kathy Jo Lindsey & Jeremy Lindsey.

Clarence is survived by Five (5) sons Robert (Jeannie) Lindsey, Danny Lindsey, Michael (Debbie) Lindsey, Clarence David (Dena) Matthews & Russell (Rita) Matthews, Two (2) daughters Mary Lindsey & Wilma Matthews. Thirteen (13) Grandchildren Michael Lindsey, Michelle Coke, Raeleigh Matthews, Russell "Bub" Matthews Jr., Robert Lindsey Jr., Lynn Royer, Jason Lindsey, Christina Cook, David Matthews, John Matthews, Miranda Pyles, Garrett Matthews, Abigale Matthews. Great grandchildren Loren Vance, Christian Coke, Marissa Lindsey, Katie Lindsey, Mollie Lindsey, Clayton Kemp, Dalton Kemp, Austin Smith, Austin Royer, Adrain Royer, Leah Lindsey, Cameron Lindsey Hayden Lindsey, Zoe Cook, Alyssa Cook, Landyn Matthews, Tristan Matthews, Peyton Matthews, Nyla Matthews, Craig Slinkard III & Link Matthews. Three (3) great great grandchildren Waylen Vance, Gavin Smith & Mattie Smith.

Clarence's church affiliation was with Oak Grove United Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
