Cordia accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1950 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO. This began a life-long journey of faith in action as she taught Girls Auxiliary, was a faithful worker in Vacation Bible School and served as church clerk for many years. After moving to Fredericktown, MO she and Glenn were faithful members of Meadow Heights and rarely missed a Sunday worship for over 30 years. One of the things she really enjoyed was her daily devotional time in Bible Study and reading the Bible all the way through from Genesis to Revelations.
Cordia grew up in Southeast Missouri and worked with Glenn on the farm for years. Together they planted and reaped the bounty of great gardens and she was diligent in canning and filling the freezer. She was employed at the Shoe Factory in Sikeston and also worked at Grabers Department Store. She attended the school of cosmetology and became a hairdresser. She enjoyed working at Hattie's Beauty Shop in Cape Girardeau, MO for many years. In 1974, Glenn and "Corky" retired and made their first trip to Lake Wales, Florida. The beginning of 27 years of enjoyment in Florida.
The last two and one-half years she has been a resident of Stockhoff Nursing Home. Everyone there remembers her as a caring, loving, sweet, and helpful person. All the residents and staff will miss her.
It is not goodbye Mom, Mother, Mommy, Me-maw, Grammy, Grandma and G-ma, but farewell, one day we will have a great reunion in heaven.
