David August Filley was born on November 17, 1940, at St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Melva Filley, and passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 84 years.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

David is survived by his wife Elaine Filley, who he married on August 4, 1967, at St. Louis, two (2) sons, Daniel (Margaret) Filley, Kirk (Kate Novak) Filley, one (1) brother, Greg Filley, one (1) sister, Donna Filley, seven (7) grandchildren, Daniel Filley Jr., Raymond (Kora) Filley, Dillen Filley, Holly Filley, Christopher Filley, Brandon Keilholz, Joshua Keilholz, and six (6) great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Filley, Jacob Filley, Joycelyn Filley, Mckinnley Filley, Bryce Filley, and August Filley.

David was a United States Army Veteran, he was of the Lutheran Faith, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching nascar, and bmx bikes.
