David Thomas Gaines was born on November 7, 1984 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri the son of Henry (Dan) and Phyllis (Simpson) Gaines and passed away on July 21, 2012 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 27 years. David was preceded in death by his grandparents Ted and Jane Simpson. David was united in marriage to Jessica Whitener on May 26, 2007 at Union Light Church. David is survived by his wife Jessica of Fredericktown, two daughters Sydney Gaines age 4 and Avery Gaines age 3 both of Fredericktown, parents Dan and Phyllis Gaines of Fredericktown, one sister Stephanie (Nick) Mills of St. Louis, one nephew Aidan Mills of St. Louis, Grandparents Sonny and Shirley Gaines, mother and father-in-law Kim and R.C. Hovis and father and mother-in-law Bruce and Vickie Whitener. David was baptized and of the Presbyterian faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, playing soccer, working on his truck, and skidding logs.

Memorials may be made to the Sydney and Avery Gaines Fund.
