Dennis Odus Cloninger was born on March 9, 1941 at Wappapello, Missouri the son of Odus F. and Jewell I. (Kemp) Cloninger and passed away on March 2, 2018 at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sonja (Young) Cloninger whom he was united in marriage to on December 12, 1981 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one sister Mae I. Ward, one nephew Ricky Whitener, and a great niece Katelyn Whitener.

He is survived by two (2) sons Scott Cloninger of Fredericktown and Terry (Pam and family) Young of Cape Girardeau, one (1) daughter Betty Ann (Michael) Ligons of Ellsinore, Missouri, one (1) sister Shirley (Harold) Whitener of Fredericktown, three grandchildren Whitney Busenbark, Tim Cloninger, and Kevin Cloninger, and great grandchildren Paisley Busenbark, Piper Busenbark, and Jacob Cloninger.

Dennis was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, baseball, hunting, gardening, and farming.

In lieu of flowers and food the family request memorial donations be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
