Donal Edward Firebaugh, a dedicated public servant and cherished member of the Fredericktown community, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Madison Medical Center. Born on January 8, 1945, in Fredericktown, Missouri to Earl E. and Eileen (Abernathy) Firebaugh.

Donal is survived by his sons, Tim Firebaugh, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Firebaugh, Ryan Firebaugh, and Dustin Firebaugh, sister, Sharron Tinnin, grandchild, Karsen Firebaugh, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who benefited from his friendship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one (1) brother, John Paul Firebaugh, and one (1) sister, Beverly Sue (Firebaugh) Hinkle.

Donal's life was a testament to service and commitment. Donal proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War for three years, followed by an additional 23 years of service in the National Guard. In 2007, Donal was elected Madison County Clerk, a position through which he continuously demonstrated his commitment to the betterment of his community. Beyond his professional achievements, Donal was known to be a friend to everyone, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.

A devoted fan of the Cardinal baseball team, he also enjoyed his fishing, especially with his friend Rich. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he actively served with the Knights of Columbus.

A visitation will be held at Follis & Sons Chapel, located at 700 Plaza Dr., Fredericktown, MO 63645, on June 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 400 W. Main, Fredericktown, MO 63645, on June 17, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
