Dr. Donald L. Goodman of Arcadia, Missouri, passed away December 8, 2014 at his residence at the age of 67 years. Don was born January 29, 1947 at Mt. Pulaski, Illinois the son of Carl J. & Olive Mae (Pope) Goodman. Don was preceded by his parents, and one brother Dennis Goodman.
Don married Leslie Thornton on September 11, 1971 at Funk's Grove, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Leslie Goodman of Arcadia, Missouri, Their three children Matthew & wife Jennie Goodman of Chesterfield, Missouri, Nick Goodman of Farmington, Missouri & Elizabeth & husband T.J. Kennedy of Ballwin, Missouri.
Four (4) grandchildren Jacob & Jocelyn Goodman and Kale & Violet Kennedy.
Three brothers Carl Goodman Jr. of Lincoln, Illinois, Gerald Goodman of Mt. Pulaski, Illinois & Robert Goodman of Tyler, Texas. Four sisters Alice Geriets of Lincoln, Illinois, Violet Beck of Atlanta, Illinois, Esther Gill of Lincoln, Illinois & Linda Goodman of Lincoln, Illinois.
Don started his school career at Hannibal, Missouri teaching 6th grade from 1973-1976. He then came to Meadow Heights School as
Principal, moving to Millcreek & East Madison as Elementary Principal, Assistance Superintendent at Fredericktown. Later on to Elementary Principal at Arcadia Valley Schools and Assistant Superintendent.
