Donald Ray "Don" Bess was born on February 23, 1946 at Marquand, Missouri the son of Colonel Pinkney and Virgie (Cureton) Bess and passed away on January 22, 2016 at his residence in Marquand at the age of 69 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Frank Bess, and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Perry) Bess whom he was united in marriage to on December 29, 1964 at Illinois, one son Ronnie Bess, one daughter Vicki (Bruce) Whitener, two sisters Mary DeSpain and Shirley (Bill) Hovis and three grandchildren Brandon Whitener, Haley Bess, and Kayline Tinsley. Don was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed motorcycles, spending time with his grandchildren, and shooting matches.
