Doris Jean Grindstaff was born on June 15, 1927 at Flat River, Missouri the daughter of Sylvester A. and Ethel (Snodgrass) Hand and passed away on March 4, 2015 at the Claru DeVille Nursing Home in Fredericktown at the age of 87 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Truman Marion Roscoe Grindstaff whom she was united in marriage to on May 7, 1944 at Flat River, Missouri, four sisters Ruth Young, Shirley Jackson, Helen Gamblin, and Virginia Adams, and four brothers Dale Hand, Richard Hand, Robert Hand, and an infant boy. She is survived by three sons Jerry (Paula) Grindstaff of Festus, Missouri, Edward Grindstaff of Park Hills, Missouri, and Donald (Maryann) Grindstaff of Patton, Missouri, one daughter Brenda Denning of Fredericktown, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, Sudoku puzzles, listening to gospel music - especially the Gaithers. She also enjoyed her birds and food - especially ice cream.
