Edith Lee McCormack was born on October 14, 1918, the daughter of Wilson Augustus Davis and Nellie Lee (Lizenbee) Davis, in the Union Light Community in Bollinger County, Missouri and passed away on January 30, 2012 at the Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown, Missouri at the age of 93 years.
Edith was united in marriage to H. Clinton McCormack on
May 3, 1940 in Flat River, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three (3) brothers: Benjamin Wesley Davis husband of Gladys Pearl Crites, Clance Wilson Davis husband of Laverne Almeta Farmer, and Herman Weldon Davis; six (6) sisters: Ida Belle Davis Smith wife of Archie Burritt Smith, Eunice Augusta Davis Miller wife of Rev. James Franklin Miller, Lula Ann Davis Shrum wife of John Frederick Shrum, Dolly Mae Davis, Jewell Irene Davis wife of Roy Carroll Swinford, and Pauline Agnes Davis wife of Carroll Stanley Adkison; and a set of infant twins.
Edith is survived by two (2) sons Michael Lynn McCormack of Jackson, Missouri, Donald Lee McCormack of St. Charles, Missouri; one (1) daughter Nina Katherine McCormack (Kenneth) Hinkle of Madison, Alabama; four (4) grandchildren Teresa Annette Hinkle (Jim) Sanders of Marietta, Georgia, Anita Renee Hinkle (Jim) Barrett of Madison, Alabama, Ryan Michael McCormack of Jackson, Missouri and Spencer Lee McCormack of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and five (5) great grandchildren; Mitchell Thomas Sanders, Katherine Nicole Sanders, and Christina Marie Sanders all of Marietta, Georgia, and James Edward Barrett III and Lindsey Morgan Barrett both of Madison, Alabama.
Edith was a member of both the Union Light Church and First Free Will Baptist Church for many years. Edith's special interests included collecting things, genealogy, family histories, arts and crafts, and traveling.
