Obituary

Harold Wayne Parsons, 89, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. An additional visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Follis & Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Follis & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to Olivet Free Will Baptist Church or Berean Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com



Born June 20, 1924, in Saco, MO, he was the son of the late Jesse Parsons and Della Stacy Parsons. He was a U.S. Army/Air Corps veteran of World War II. On June 15, 1946, he married Oletha Chapman who preceded him in death on June 28, 2007. He had lived in Marshall since 1993, moving from Fredericktown, and was a retired minister. He was a member of Olivet Free Will Baptist Church in Marshall.



Survivors include four children, Jeannie Bowman and husband Dennis of Independence, MO, Kathyrn Wilson and husband David of Gastonia, NC, Waynelle Scott and husband Jerry of Marshall and Jonathan Parsons of Marshall; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Bea Clark of the state of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents and wife, Oletha, Harold was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacy Scott; five brothers; and two sisters.
