Ila Dean Payne was born on July 11, 1923, the daughter of George and Etta Catherine (Mears) Yocham, in Oakland, Arkansas and passed away on February 1, 2012 at her home in Fredericktown, Missouri at the age of 88 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one (1) sister Bobbie Williams; and three (3) brothers George Yocham, Murphy Yocham, and Dale Yocham.
Ila Dean is survived by her husband, Verdon W. Payne, who she was united in marriage on May 5, 1946. She is also survived by three (3) daughters Verdeana (Guy) Lavrrar of St. Louis, Missouri, Phyllis (Hank) Freund of St. Louis, Missouri, and Nancy (Michael) Gunning of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; four sisters (4) Blanche Graddy of Springfield, Missouri, Sue Dunn of San Jose, California, Betty Sherman of Wheatland, Missouri, and Cathy Lile of Springfield, Missouri; and three grandchildren.
Ila Dean was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, gardening, and reading.
