Ima Jean Scowden was born on August 27, 1936 at home in Cascade, Missouri the daughter of Arthur and Mattie (Minson) Darnell and passed away on December 30, 2013 at Marshfield, Missouri at the age of 77 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter Mattie Rose Donnell, and one great grandson Kolton James Leach. Ima Jean was united in marriage to Floyd E. Scowden on May 30, 1998 at White Hollow Church in Silva, Missouri. She is survived by her husband Floyd, two sons Robert Lee Hopkins of Marshfield, Missouri and Douglas Tate Bryant of Cascade, Missouri, four daughters Margo Jean Hopkins of Ozark, Missouri, Tamara D. Ganime of Cascade, Missouri, Enola G. Leach of Silva, Missouri, and Lisa L. Skaggs of Marquand, Missouri, two sisters Clare Darnell of Lohman, Missouri and Betty L. Gipson of Cascade, Missouri. Also seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was a master gardener and enjoyed fishing, she had a love for farm living and animals, and was always ready to help the underprivileged and those in need.
