Irene Hettie Matthews was born September 12, 1911 at Senath, Missouri the daughter of Charles Edward & Viola Amanda (Zumwalt) Montgomery and passed away on February 16, 2011 at Fredericktown at the age of 99 years.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Five (5) sisters Ruth & Velva died in infancy, Peggy Jean Laden, Minnie Mae Latinnie & Ruby Pearl Gifford. Three (3) brothers Norman who died in infancy, Warren G. Montgomery who died at age 10 years & Robert Wayne Montgomery.
Irene was also preceded in death by her husband Hobart G. Matthews whom she married on October 29, 1935 in Hornersville, Missouri
Irene is survived One (1) brother Charles Paul Montgomery and One (1) sister Mary Jo Easley.
Irene was a member of Whitewater Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking & gardening.
