Obituary

James Floyd King was received in Heaven Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born April 6, 1929 in Reynolds County, MO to James Lee King and Della (Chitwood) King.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harvey King; sisters Helen Hargrove, Freda Ferguson; and son-in-law Winferd James McDaniel, Jr.

James was united in marriage to Viola Grace Bowling in St. Louis, MO.

Survivors include wife Viola of the home; daughter Shelby McDaniel of Fredericktown; granddaughter Ramona Lynn (Thomas) Johnson of Barnhart; sister Sallie Seely of Springfield, MO; brother Albert Lloyd (Freda) King of Ellington; adopted niece Mary Kay Miller of Farmington; adopted nephew Gary Ray King of Illinois, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

James was of the Protestant faith, and member of the Grace Church of the Heartland.

He enjoyed horses, driving, and playing with his dog Samson.

James retired and sold his business "King's 66 Station" on South Main in Fredericktown in May 1992. He then went into the wrecker business and later started driving for Barrett Jensen Chevrolet, Bening Ford, and delivering meals for Fredericktown Nutrition Center.
