James M. "Jim" Laplant Jr. was born July 21, 1941 at Marble Creek, Missouri, the son of James M. and Virginia (Kemp) LaPlant Sr. and passed away at his home January 24, 2009 at the age of 67 years.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one (1) brother, Robert LaPlant, son, Victor LaPlant and granddaughter, Samantha (Sammi) LaPlant.
He is survived by his wife Glenda LaPlant whom he married December 22, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri, also three(3) sons, Christopher LaPlant, Jesse and wife Debbie LaPlant, William (Bill) Davis, five (5) daughters, Lisa and husband (Dan) Minden, Sherri LaPlant, Victoria LaPlant, Lisa and husband (Woody) Wood and Melissa and husband (Joe) Saunders. Also, surviving are three(3) brothers and two (2) sisters, Gerald and wife (Rhoda) LaPlant, Russell LaPlant, Barry LaPlant, Jennifer Vierling and Cheryl Wurtz as well as thirteen (13) grandchildren and three(3) great grandchildren. Jim enjoyed hunting, gardening and whittling.
Visitation will be held after 10:00 A.M. on Monday January 26, 2009 at the Follis & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Follis & Sons Funeral Home
