James L. "JL" Walker, 81 of Mill Creek, Missouri, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2013.
He was predeceased by parents William and Della Walker, siblings, Juanita Gottman, Alma Ward, William "Junior" Walker, grandchildren, Dennis Raymond Jr. Fraley and Julie Ann Fraley.
Father of Harry J. Walker, of Hillsboro, Terry L. Walker, of Bonne Terre, Regina G. Fraley, of Desloge, Larry W. Walker, of Bonne Terre, Jerry S. Walker, of Bonne Terre. Also survived by Shirley Walker.
James L. Walker was born in Mill Creek on October 10, 1931. He was a graduate of Fredericktown High School in 1949. Later joined the Armed Services on March 20, 1951, where he received several Medals of Honor including a Purple Heart during the Korean War. In his spare time he loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family. Belonged to the Disabled Vets of America, VFW, and retired from Farmington Correctional Center.
"JL" is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we all spent with him.
