James W. "Butch" Ammon Sr. was born on March 6, 1948 at Madison County, Missouri the son of Carl V. and Virginia L. (Vaugn) Ammon and passed away on March 19, 2015 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Carol (Menteer) Ammon whom he was united in marriage to on March 30, 2010 at Park Hills, Missouri, two sons, James W. (Sarah) Ammon Jr. and Michael Ammon both of St. Louis, one daughter Lisa, step-children Shawn (Sara) Rogers of Ste. Genevieve and Amber (Brandon) Penberthy of Farmington, and fifteen (15) grandchildren. Butch was of the Christian faith and enjoyed racing, the St. Louis Cardinals, and dogs.
