James B. (John) Matthews was born on November 2, 1932 at Madison County, the son of Everett and Gertrude (Cook) Matthews and passed away on April 16, 2013 at his residence in Fredericktown at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Henrietta Andrews Matthews, whom he was united in marriage to on March 21, 1952 at Fredericktown, one brother Clyde Matthews and one sister Kathleen Miller. John is survived by one son Paul (Shonda) Matthews of Fredericktown, one daughter Mary Ann (Dan) DeSpain of Fredericktown, one brother Buster Matthews of Fredericktown, six grandchildren Caleb Matthews, Rylan Matthews, Braden Matthews, Denise (Kent) Marler, Mark (Sara) DeSpain, and Lisabeth (Nic) Petroff, and five great grandchildren.
