Jerold Eugene "Jerry" Owens of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was born October 21, 1939 the son of the late Robert E. and Ruby (Lawrence) Owens and passed away on August 28, 2017 at Pikes Peak Hospice Hospital in Colorado Springs of a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his family and friend.

He married Sonja Traber on December 30, 1961, she preceded him in death on May 9, 1990. He was also preceded in death by one brother Harold Owens.

Jerry joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and during his Military career he served in Germany, Turkey, Italy and Vietnam. After his retirement from the military he went to work for Sprint Communications as a fiber optic tech. He was very active and always helping his neighbors, friends and family when needed.

Jerry is survived by one daughter Janu (Lee) Wood, one grandson Brandon Arndt, one sister Marcia (Howard) Montgomery, three brothers Gary (Darla) Owens, Donald Owens, Kevin (Cindy) Owens, sister-in-law Janet Owens. Nieces Carol (Jimmy) Green, Kristi Stuedle and Amy (Brady) Bittle, Nephews Harold Owens Jr. and Robert (Lara) Owens, great nieces Alyssa Stuedle and Dakota (Drew) Seabourne, great nephews Matt and Drew Owens and Blake and Brant Bittle and one great great nephew Jameson Seabourne.
