Jesse Lewis Yow gained heaven May 28, 2009 after an illness of over five years. He was born November 11, 1929, in Marquand , Missouri , the son of Nathan Calvin and Mabel Finley Yow. He trusted the Lord Jesus Christ, becoming a Christian at an early age. May 16, 1951 he and Linda Joy Yount were married.



His working years were spent mostly in the field of education, retiring as an Associate Professor from Southeast Missouri University .



Survivors include Jay and his wife, Dorcas; Gene and his wife, Mary, and seven grandchildren. They are Jay and Dorcas' family, David (& Laura) Yow, Rachel (& Kyle) Knoepfel, Sarah Ruth Yow, and a Great Grandchild Knoepfel, expected this summer and Gene and Mary's family, Jonathan Michael Yow, and Stephen Daniel Yow.



Jesse was able to depart this life saying "We have been so blessed." He tried to help many people during his life, and it was wonderful to witness the way people helped him and his family in so many ways during his long illness.



Visitation will be Saturday evening with a funeral service Sunday at the Chapel at 2 P.M. Interment will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Fredericktown. He will be missed very much by so many, but we look forward to seeing him again soon.
