Jimmie Cleon
Albright
October 10, 1950 – May 11, 2018
Jimmie C. Albright was born October 10, 1950 at Ironton, the son of J.C. and Edna Albright, and passed away on May 11, 2018 at Fredericktown. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmie is survived by one (1) sister Connie (Jerry) Matthews, niece Jennifer (Allen) Cook, nephew Mike (Lori) Matthews, and several cousins. He lived in Fredericktown until the age of 15 and then moved on with family to Florissant where he finished high school. Along the way, he discovered his love of playing the bass guitar. After graduation, he was a bass player for several groups in the St. Louis area. His love of the Beatles began after he saw them in concert at Busch Stadium. He continued to follow their careers the rest of his life, watching and reading every item of information that was published. Around 1970, he moved to Independence, along with his wife Abby, where he entered the world of retail sales. It was during this time that his heart condition flared up and he discovered he was born with a defective aortic valve. Over the years, it progressed and his first correction was to have an aortic valve put into place in 1989. Then It progressed to a pacemaker defibulator, and eventually, on September 23, 1992, he received a heart transplant and moved back to Fredericktown to be with his family. On March 3, 2013, he received a kidney transplant, which, over time, his body rejected. His final days were spent between his home, dialysis, and Barnes Hospital and it eventually led to his leg amputation. He was able to spend his last days in Stockhoff Nursing Home, talking to all of his friends and family, and recalling all of the wonderful events in his life. He spoke of all of the health issues with a smile and loved giving everyone great details of his journey of living with someone else's heart and kidney. His request was to have his ashes spread at Garden of the Gods in Colorado.
