Obituary

John H. Minton was born on June 29, 1924 at East Prairie, Missouri the son of Lusus and Bertha (Green) Minton and passed away on September 24, 2012 at Fredericktown at the age of 88 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Opal Minton and Sadie Minton, one brother Jim Minton, one son Derek Minton, and one grandson Tony Minton. John was united in marriage to Amy Minton on February 10, 1945 at Dereham, England. John is survived by his wife Amy; four (4) sons Kenneth (Elfie) Minton of Riverview, Florida, David Minton of Illinois, Myron (Robin) Minton of Advance, Missouri, and Michael (Dana) Minton of Chesterfield, Missouri; two (2) daughters Barbara (Harry) Tripp of Fredericktown and Linda (Scott) Cureton of Fredericktown; two (2) brothers Jay Kennedy of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Joe Kennedy of Pevely, Missouri; three (3) sisters Ruth Zorn of Washington, Betty Howelett of Farmington, Missouri, and Glenda Foxx of Michigan. Also fourteen (14) grandchildren and twenty (20) greatgrandchildren. John was a member of the Fredericktown Christian Church and enjoyed camping, Kaisers, gardening, cycling, and church. John earned the Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and five (5) Bronze Stars while serving in the United States Army.
