Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Allgier Jr. was born March 29, 1932 at Iron County, the son of Joseph and Essie Allgier.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two (2) sons infant Don Allgier, Nick Allgier, two (2) sisters Essie Bernedett Allgier, Martha Boyd, and one (1) brother Arthur Allgier.

Joe is survived by his wife Patsy, whom he married on November 17, 1951 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, three (3) sons Timothy (Pat) Allgier, Ray (Kim) Allgier, Joey (Nan) Allgier, two (2) daughters Susie (Bob) Parkerson, Becky (Kevin) Brewer, two (2) brothers Carl (Sandra) Allgier, Robert Allgier, two (2) sisters Grace (Otto) Lerche, Emma (Eddie) Brown, eleven (11) grandchildren Kristi Bode, Sara Reichert, Justin Allgier, Will Tinsley, Amber McCormack, Amy Whittlesey, Ryan Allgier, Ben Tinsley, Charlie Allgier, Mallory Allgier, Rusty Allgier, eighteen (18) great-grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe was the third of eight children of Joseph and Essie Erma (Royer) Allgier. He was raised on the family farm in the Flatwoods Communnity. Joe farmed with his father and brothers, Arthur and Carl. Joe did most of the trucking.
In 1960, the sudden death of Joe's father brought many changes. Joe went into construction work for Bennett & Smith. He also did trucking for John Paul Skaggs & Sons. In 1966 he joined the Teamsters Local 574, driving trucks on road construction until a sudden illness in 1991. He was a hunter, farmer & woodsman.
