Joshua Phillip Jarrett, who inspired thousands to overcome the impossible, ended his Earthly time with us on Oct. 24, 2012.
Josh was born Sep. 27, 1989. At 18 months of age he was diagnosed with bileria atresia.
The illness caused Josh's liver to fail, requiring a liver transplant. By the time Josh received a new liver, his heart began to give out, necessitating a heart transplant. Joshsurvived both transplants, becoming the first person to do so after receiving two major organ transplants at separate times.
Josh grew from baby to boy and then a man, always positive, always loving.
At 22 Josh was diagnosed with lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy, and earlier this year the cancer was declared in remission.
This week, however, Josh's heart gave out, and he departed this life for the next.
While we wish desperately that we had more time with Josh, we thank God for the years we did have together. We are left remembering Josh not just for who he was, but also for what he represents.
No matter the obstacles we encounter in life, there is a strength within each of us that allows us to overcome, to persevere and to thrive. And when people join together in a common cause, even the slimmest odds can be defeated.
We thank the countless individuals who played a part in giving us 23 years with Josh, including his doctors, nurses and all those who spoke prayers and wishes of well being on Josh's behalf.Your sacrifices and support are not forgotten.
Josh is survived by his parents, Darrell Jarrett & Jacque Biri and Brenda (Phillips) Jarrett & Brady Tinnin, fiancée Taylor Sutton, siblings Jeremy and Samantha Jarrett, Joe & Sara Duncan, Tiffany Biri & Levi Birmingham, Nathan Blaine and Jaysa Parsley, nieces and nephews Eli Jarrett, Chloe Jarrett and Kailee Biri.
