June B. Parmeley's Obituary
June Parmeley was born to Floyd and Felice Parmeleyon june 29, 1917 and passed away on November 4, 2010 in Fredericktown.
june was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanda Parmeley and brother Bruce "Bud" Parmeley.
june graduated from high school with honors, finished her work for a Masters degree at Missouri University. Before completing her work for a Masters degree, she moved home to care for her mother.
June became director of several edcation phases ay Webster Groves, Mo. Principal for several years; workes in many phases in training new teachers for Webster Grove Schols. June also taught at St. Mary's institute and in St. Louis for Missouri University.
June was part of a team sent by the National Department of education to evaluate the American School in Lima, Peru. June wrote and adapted children's books which were published by Webster Book Company, some were written in Spanish.
June loved to travel. She visited all the States, took several tours studying the Mississippi River Boundaries, visited Canada, Alaska, Sweden and surrouding areas. She toured the Holy Land with an organized group visiting Egypt, India and several locations in Europe.
June took advanced training to become a certified lay speaker for assigned churches and the United Methodist Chruch and held services for fourteen years for the Methodist church at Coldwater, Missouri. June taught Sunday School classes for mant years. She also worked with several churches to plan and present the World Day of Prayer's annual program. and activity initiated by the Presbyterian Church. june contributed financially to the United Methodist and gave special monetary gifts to help in remoldeling church facilities.
June worked with the hospital auxiliary serving as president for nineteen years. The memners help install and operate a new shop in the local hospital which enabled them to purchase many items for the facility.
We will miss you June, you were a "Special" person.
