Kody James Menteer was born on January 14, 1994, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Richard Keith Menteer Jr., and Lisa Renee (Hanks) Clark, and passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 30 years.

Kody was preceded in death by his grandfather Delmar Hanks, grandmother Bonnie Watson, step-father Ed Clark, and Marty "Redman" Rehkop.

Kody is survived by his parents, one (1) son, Tucker Michael Charlie Burnett, one (1) daughter, Ellie Elizabeth Menteer, one (1) brother, Justin (Brittany Smith) Menteer, one (1) sister, Makenna (Layne Gonser) Menteer, Paw Paw Richard Menteer, Maw Maw Carrie Menteer, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kody was a free spirit that loved life and lived it to the fullest. Kody was always up for a good challenge, whether it be breaking a horse, working cattle with his Paw Paw, fixing things, or taking on a new job. Kody wasn't afraid to take on new challenges and he always accomplished them. He was a "Jack of all trades."

Kody's big blue eyes, infectious laugh and smile lit up a room when he entered. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Kody was a friend that was always there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a tight hug.

Kody enjoyed riding horses, farming, grilling food, hunting, spending time at the river, riding 4-wheelers and side by sides. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved them whole heartedly. Kody loved his children, Tucker and Squirrel (Ellie) fiercely. Most likely, anywhere Kody was he had one or both with him and they were always game for any and all of his shenanigans as they too loved their Daddy fiercely.

Kody often said his biggest accomplishment in life was being a Dad.
