Leona Mae Gebert was born on November 8, 1916 at St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Hampel) Heafner and passed away on May 12, 2013 at the Ozark Manor Nursing Center in Fredericktown at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Eugene Gebert Sr. whom she was united in marriage to on June 4, 1938 at St. Louis, one sister Helen Rager, one brother-in-law Frank Gebert, and one grandson Gary Gebert. She is survived by two sons William E. Gebert Jr. of Fredericktown, James C. (Deborah) Gebert of St. Louis, two daughters Jo (Bud) Johnson of Fredericktown, and Jackie Hoffman of Kansas, ten (10) grandchildren, twenty-two (22) greatgrandchildren, and three (3) great greatgrandchildren. Leona was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, reading the Bible, friends and family, going out to eat and to the beauty shop.
