Lillie Myrtle (Mills) Matthews was born July 9, 1929 in Dunklin County, Missouri the daughter of Marvin and Retha (Shrum) Mills and passed away on February 12, 2017 at her residence at the age of 87 years 7 months and 3 days.
Lillie was united in marriage to Paul A. Matthews on October 9, 1946 who preceded her in death, and to this union Four (4) children were born Kay Matthews of Marquand, Paul Ray Matthews (Dorothy) of Lawrence, Kansas, Sue Matthews of Marquand and Bev. Bequette (Les) of Marquand. Four (4) grandchildren Eric Matthews (Tracy) of Lawrence, Kansas, Michael Matthews (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Sarah Hale (Tyler) of Antioch, Tennessee and Rachel Bequette of Hermitage, Tennessee. Four (4) great grandchildren Alexander, William and Henry Matthews and Elisa Hale. Three (3)honorary grandchildren Shelby, Betsy and Kelsey Reed Two (2) honorary great grandchildren Sophie French and Harper Reed. One (1) brother Delmar Mills of Fredericktown, Two (2) sisters Loretta Wilkerson & Eula Statler of Fredericktown,
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Two (2) brothers and Four (4) sisters.
Lillie was a member of Union Light Freewill Baptist Church of which she was clerk for over 50 years. A cook at Southeast District Youth Camp for 20 years.
