Linda Joyce Crosby was born November 13, 1950 at Fredericktown, the daughter of Forrest Vester & Lola Ellen (Shrum) Dowd and passed away on February 17, 2009 at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown at the age of 59 years.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Two (2) sisters Hazel Irene Hoffman & Lois Cathern Dowd.Two (2) brothers Lloyd Wendell Dowd & Dallas Wendell Dowd. One (1) grandson Michael DeWayne Chronister.
also her husband Elmer "Bing" Crosby whom she married on December 9, 1991 at Farmington, Missouri.
Linda is survived by Two (2) sons Gary Frank Chronister of Columbia, Missouri & Forrest Ray Chronister of Piggott, Arkansas. One (1) grandson Jared Ray Chronister of Piggott, Arkansas. Three (3) brothers Lindell Ernest Dowd of Festus, Missouri, Darrell Ray Dowd of Jefferson, City, Missouri & Larry Dale Dowd of Festus, Missouri. Three (3) sister Glenda Odessa Amanda Call of Lenexa, Kansas, Emma Laverne Thorsrud of Fredericktown and Janet Faye Dowd of Fredericktown. Several nieces & nephews.
Linda was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed church, family, needlework, reading. She was Girl Scout Assistant Leader and V.F.W. Auxillary Patriotic Instructor.
Services were held February 20, 2009 at Follis & Sons Funeral Home with Interment in Rhodes Chapel Cemetery. Officiating: Pastor Lloyd Durbin & Pastor Charles David McCutcheon.
