Linnie Ellis was born on May 2, 1932 at Rector, Arkansas the daughter of Newton James and Gussie Mae (Husk) Smith and passed away on February 21, 2016 at Jefferson Mercy Hospital in Festus at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Larry Thompson and Jerry Thompson, and two sisters Francis Purdom and Mary Pentcost. She is survived by two sons Gary Dale (Patty) Ellis of Ironton and Glen (Barbara) Barnes of Fremont, Missouri, one daughter Sherry Myers of Ironton, fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She attended Cornerstone Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching wrestling and Dancing with the Stars.
