Margretta L. Bess was born on January 10, 1941 at Captains Creek in Madison County, Missouri the daughter of Orda and Bessie (King) Francis and passed away on June 7, 2012 at Farmington at the age of 71 years. Margretta was preceded in death by her parents and one half-brother Dallas Thompson. Margretta was united in marriage to Clyde Bess Sr. on May 26, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, one son Clyde (Linda) Bess Jr. of Fredericktown, one half-sister Goldie Cushman of St. Louis, two grandchildren Chad (Kelly) Bess and Chastidy (Bess) Smith, and five (5) great grandchildren Halee Beth, Autumn, and Aubree Bess; and Haley and Hayden Smith. Margretta was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed flowers, fishing, and yard sales.
