Mary O'Dell Menteer Combs was born on May 3, 1929 at Madison County, Missouri the daughter of Fred Lee and Sarah Magdelin (Spain) Hale and passed on March 12, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband David Menteer Sr. whom she was united in marriage to in April 1947 at St. Louis, and Ralph Arthur Combs Sr. whom she was united in marriage to on November 1, 1969 at St. Louis and was married for 40 years, one son Kevin Menteer, four brothers Howard Hale, Ernie Hale, Paul Hale, and Lee A. Hale, and three sisters Vida White, Viola Aiello, and Hazel Hale. She is survived by five sons David Michael Menteer of Fredericktown, Richard Menteer of Fredericktown, Doug Menteer of Fredericktown, James Menteer of Conyers, Georgia, and Ralph Arthur Combs Jr. of Bourbon, Missouri, three daughters Brenda Menteer-Clark of Canton Georgia, Carol Ammon of Park Hills, Missouri, and Mary Angela Francis of Spearfish, South Dakota, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Mary was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Bourbon and enjoyed spending time with her children, gardening, quilting, sewing, cooking, and especially collecting rocks.
