Obituary

Mary Lee Starkey was born on May 26, 1930, at Piedmont, Missouri the daughter of Ike and Martha (Clark) Charlton and passed away on February 27, 2025, at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown at the age of 94 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Reginald "Reggie" Starkey whom she was united in marriage to September 1948 at Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers Lenoard Charlton and Edward Charlton; sisters Lorene Hefner and two infant sisters; and daughters-in-law Martha "Marty" Starkey, Michelle Starkey and Catherine Starkey.

She is survived by three (3) sons Harold Lee Starkey, Roger Starkey, and Frankie Starkey, nine (9) grandchildren, fifteen (15) great grandchildren, and two (2) great great grandchildren.

Mary Lee moved to Madison County in 1943 at the age of 13 and lived her life. She went to work at Brown Shoe in 1946 where she spent much of working career with 30 years of service and also co-owned Reggies Used Furniture for 32 years where she worked with her husband.

She has been a member of Calvary Church since 1994 where she was an active member of the Choir at one time. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, painting, camping, fishing, and cooking.
