Matt Clawson was born on May 22, 1988, the son of Patty Clawson and David Clawson, and passed away on October 8, 2024, at the age of 36 years.

Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, William L. A. "Butch" and Katherine L. Mooney, Grandmother, Georgia Teague, and great-aunt and uncle, Ruby and Deane Clawson.

Matt is survived by his mother Patty, and father David, one (1) sister, Katie (Bryan) Beard, three (3) nieces and nephews, Rylee Beard, Chase Beard, Emily Beard, two (2) uncles, Scott (Rick Mitchell) Mooney, Tom (Becky) Mooney, and one (1) aunt, Jeanne Mooney.

Matt was an active and lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.  He was a 4th degree knight in the knights of Columbus.  Matt rarely missed a meeting or knight activity, doing all he could for an organization whose sole purpose is to assist with the needs of others.

Matt worked for the late Rick Shoemaker and the late Randy Shoemaker for several years.  He has been employed with the Fredericktown R-1 School District as a custodian at the Intermediate School for the past ten plus years.  He had a sincere caring and compassion for the teachers, staff, and students who he worked with.

He enjoyed all the friendships he'd made throughout his life, especially all of the companions he'd share a good laugh with at the coffee shop.

Matt was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, and compassionate friend to all who knew him.  His infectious smile, positive and caring outlook on life will be missed but he will always be remembered in our hearts.
