Melba Louise Banes was born March 17, 1931 in Carroll County, Tennessee the daughter of Lester & Opal (McMinn) Lewis and passed away on January 27, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 82 years. Melba was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Banes whom she was united in marriage to on August 5, 1949 at the Christian Church in Fredericktown, one sister Dorthy Counts, and one brother Theadous Lewis. Melba is survived by four (4) daughters Kathie Quade of Jackson, Missouri, Gail Davis of Garner, North Carolina, Laura Duncan of Fredericktown, and Patricia Leslie of Loveland, Colorado, thirteen grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren, and one great greatgrandson. Melba was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed painting and reading.
