Monford Joseph Turner was born February 20, 1939, in Streator, Illinois the son of Joseph and Naomi (Kees) Turner and passed away on September 20, 2024, in Desloge, Missouri at the age of 85 years.

Monford was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Naomi Petersen, a son Monford Joseph Turner Jr. and a brother Terry Turner. Monford is survived by his wife Phyllis (Yount) Turner who he married on March 16, 1995, at Ottawa, Illinois. Also, a sister Marsha Whipple.

Monford served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia, Republic. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. Being Honorably discharged on October 21, 1970

He enjoyed wood crafting especially boats and airplanes.
