Nancy Elinor Beard was born on November 4, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John and Elinor (Eveland) Wafler, and passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 84.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Beard, who she married on July 19, 2007, one sister Phyllis Wafler and one brother John Jack Wafter.

Nancy is survived by one son John (Jill) McDowell, one daughter Nancy Twinkle (Patrick) Martin, one step-daughter Jennifer Norris, one brother Mark (Tammy) Wafler, seven grandchildren Sarah (Brad) Isaac, Mary Martin, John Martin, Chelsey (Clay) Lerche, Matt Martin, Alexis (Jarrett) Lincoln, Rebecca (Corey) Flaherty, Geoffrey (Alyssa) McDowell, Gracie VanHoosier and 12 great-grandchildren.

Nancy was a member of the Nazarene Church in Fredericktown, MO.

Nancy loved people, serving the community and loved feeding people, she was the owner of Cherokee Pass Restaurant for 20+ years. But most of all her love was her family and her grandkids and great-grandkids.
