Opie John Russell was born on May 15, 1941, at St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Opie and Opal (Wilson) Russell, and passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 84 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two (2) sisters, Jorena Ham, Janice Hall, and one (1) great-granddaughter, Brielle Bittle.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Story) Russell, who he married on August 24, 1960, at Manilla, Arkansas, one (1) daughter, Cindy (Kevin) Owens, one (1) granddaughter, Amy (Brady) Bittle, and two (2) great-grandchildren, Blake Bittle and Brant Bittle.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing yard and garden work.
