Patricia Mary Pracht Griffon passed away on October 22, 2024 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Pat was born June 24, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri where she lived for 35 years. She and her husband built a home in Fredericktown, Missouri and lived in it for 25 years. She then moved to Jackson, Missouri in 2006. Pat's parents were Aloisious and Frances Mae Turnbough Pracht. She married Melvin Lee Griffon on August 2, 1969. Melvin preceded her in death, March 17, 2007.
Pat held a variety of jobs including a payroll clerk at Western Waterproofing Co in St. Louis, MO, Madison Memorial Hospital in Fredericktown, MO and Farmington Cancer Center as a medical secretary and receptionist. She volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels in both the Fredericktown and Cape Girardeau areas. She also volunteered at FISH Food Pantry in Cape Girardeau and the Jackson Food Pantry. She was also the secretary for Foster Care Services in Cape Girardeau for 3 years.
Pat enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, crafts, computers and spending time with her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers: Thomas Max Pracht and William Carl Pracht; and 3 sisters: Verna Mae (Michael) Hucke, Barbara Ann Pracht, and Cynthia Marie Pracht; and step-son Todd O. Griffon.
Pat is survived by daughters Michelle Lee (Mark) Howard of Cape Girardeau, MO, Kelly Mary Griffon (Damon Wilson) of O'Fallon, MO; 2 step-sons: David Lee (Myra) Griffon of Godfrey, Illinois; Ross O. Griffon of St. Louis, Missouri; and 2 step-daughters: Diana Lynn (Derek) McCoy; and Karen Elaine Harvey of St. Charles, Missouri, 3 step-granddaughters: Rebecca Griffon, Faith Griffon, and Sarah Harvey and honorary grandson: Andrew Mathes of Jackson, Missouri.
She is also survived by 4 brothers: Ronald Pracht of Saint Peters, Missouri; Donald Pracht of Imperial, Missouri, Carl Pracht of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Kenneth (Tracey) Pracht of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Other surviving family members include: numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Pat was a member of Second Baptist Church and First Baptist in Fredericktown, MO, and after moving to Jackson, MO joined Lynwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1:30 pm followed by the funeral at 3:00 pm. She will be buried at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown, Missouri next to her late husband.
Pat also loved her beloved pets and spent time volunteering at Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary in Jackson, MO. The family has requested donations to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary in memory of her.
