Robert Lee Hicks, Jr., age 60, born June 25, 1963 in East Louis, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Fredericktown, MO.

Robert loved his work. He owned his own business as a sub-contractor, framing houses for most of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors—fishing, hunting, boating, riding his side-by-side. He especially loved spending time with his family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Hicks; a son, Robert Hicks III, Grandmother Venita; Grandma & Grandpa Jones; a sister-in-law, Margaret Smothers; parents-in-law, Patricia and Joseph Smith; and a niece, Kristina Dewitt.

He is survived by his father, Robert (Reet) Hicks, Sr.; his loving wife, Anita (Smith) Hicks; a daughter, Amanda (Robert) Uhrig; a son, RIchard Hicks;  two grandsons, Kohen and Aiden Uhrig; a brother, Jeff Hicks;  sister-in-law Mary (Carey) Dixon, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
