Robert L. (Roy) Carlton was born on August 23, 1941 at Madison County, Missouri the son of Delbert and Irene (Lutes) Carlton and passed away on August 4, 2025 at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and brother-in-law Jim Zahner.

Roy is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Bowling) Carlton whom he was united in marriage to on June 4, 1983 at Joplin, Missouri, one sister Maydeen Carlton Zahner of Fredericktown, one sister-in-law Jane Bowling of Fredericktown, one niece Jamie Alley of Fredericktown, and his extended family.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was sent to Vietnam where he worked as a mechanic.

Roy was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Fredericktown. He loved going on trips to Branson, walking Ginger the dog, being a Mr. Fix-It for his extended family, and working at the church
