Robert E. Ruth was born February 22, 1915 at Millcreek, Missouri the son of Frank and Emma (Thompson) Ruth and passed away on March 23, 2009 at his residence at the age of 94 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Two (2) brothers Carl Ruth and Harry Ruth. Also his wife Mary Lillian (Bremser) Ruth whom he married on October 20, 1937 at the Methodist Church in Fredericktown.
Bob graduated from Fredericktown High School wit the class of 1933. As his first job Bob started working for the Phillips 66 Servic Station. Bob had started Ruth Oil Co. in Fredericktown before he was drafted into service on September 16, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks. He was sent to Hawaii for a short time, then to Saipan, where he stayed until the war ended. He was an engineer supply man.Bob was a T.Sgt. with the U.S. Army, he received the Victory Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbonwith one Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal.
Bob came back to Fredericktown where his wife Mary had keep the business going. she turned it over to him the very next day,and operated it until 1977 when he and Mary retired.
Bob & Mary had two daughters Janet Davis & Judy Mathenia, grandchildren Lonnie, Jerry, Jessie & Jennifer, 5 great grandchildren.
Bob was also a Mason for 75 years at Marcus Lodge #110 & a member of the American Legion.
Also surviving ia a special nephew Robert Whitener of France,Caregivers Katie Couch, Mary Williams, Judy Yount, Laura Daniels, Crystal Edmond, Robert Murphy, Melva Moore & Kate Brooks.
